Awake NY CLOTHINGS

In less than a decade, Angelo Baque, former Supreme brand director and unapologetic New Yorker, has established Awake NY as a stronghold of contemporary streetwear. Reflecting New York City's legacy as a cultural intersection ripe with diverse urban style inspiration, Baque's line references early-90s East Coast hip hop staples, including Polo-inspired colorblocked pastels and the Shirt Kings' stylized graphics. Collaborations with streetwear sureshots Carhartt WIP, Timberland, Reebok, and international powerhouse Moncler 1952 have provided opportunities for Baque to bring attention to his golden age hip hop heroes: Big Daddy Kane, Rakim, and Slick Rick. Baque prides himself on challenging the meaning of ‘NYC,’ while reenvisioning hip hop-inspired streetwear for a socially-minded, contemporary audience.
